Below are the actual times that Kay Electric set their monthly peaks in year 2021.  These times make sense for most of us that are busy with families and jobs.  However, being cognizant of when our individual homes use “peak power” and making a conscience effort to spread our usage over a longer timeframe can save our homes energy dollars.  Also, remember that each individual home uses electricity differently and can have peaks at different times.  Keep in mind when Western Farmers calls a peak it will typically be for three hours from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.

As members of Kay Electric, you can see when your individual home uses power by month, day and hour.  If you are not presently signed up for our SmartHub program, please contact us and we’ll get you there.  This is a great tool for understanding how your family uses energy.  Once you determine your home’s usage pattern, you will know your typical “peak usage” hours and can make adjustments to become a more efficient user.
